Mayrhofen is situated in the Zillertal valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol and is just an hour from Innsbruck.

The village has grown over time, but still maintains its charming atmosphere in a rural setting. The night life is great in Mayrhofen, and families can still enjoy the pretty and peaceful traditional surroundings.

With a high top altitude Mayrhofen is relatively snow-sure and it is the biggest resort in the valley, with a large amount of terrain to explore including the Hinterux glacier. The resort is linked with Hippach, Finkenberg and Lanersback but you can also reach other areas of Zillertal. The resort provides for all levels, with plenty of slopes for begginers and intermediates and more advanced slopes including the steepest marked run in Austria the ‘Harakiri’.

If you enjoy partying as much as skiing or snowboarding then make sure you head to Mayrhofen in April during the ‘Snowbombing’ week, where your winter holiday is combined with live music and a young and buzzing crowd.
