Obergurgl is a high altitude resort located in the Tyrol in Austria. It is a traditional village with a quiet and charming atmosphere. It is a resort well known for its reliable snow early and late season and this is enhanced by the glacier skiing available.

For beginners, Obergurgl is great, with areas ideal for novices and timid intermediates. There are also limited queues and the lifts are fast, and along with a limited traffic centre, it is an ideal location for pain-free family ski holidays. For intermediates the terrain is good, but limited for those wanting to push themselves and for experts there are few challenges. Obergurlg is an ideal resort for families with children learning to ski.

The night-life is relatively quiet in Obergurgl with the jolliest time being immediately after the slopes close. After that, most people tend to stay in their hotels.

Early season, the resort can suffer from winds and white-outs as the slopes are quite exposed. It can also get very cold, so something to consider when taking young children.

An excellent late season choice for families or beginners, Obergurgl offers a quiet, charming place where you can learn to ski.
