Courchevel 1550 is one of the satellite villages of Courchevel (the others include; Courchevel Le Praz, Courchevel 1650 and 1850) which is also known by Courchevel Village.

Courchevel is located in the Tarentaise area of the French Alpes and offers some of the best skiing around as it is linked with the famous “trois vallees” or 3 Valleys which is the biggest linked ski area in the world. Given the fast ski area, queues are always minimal and the lift system is hugely efficient.

For the more experience and daring skiers and snowboarders, access to Courchevels couloirs (renowned as some of the most difficult black runs in the world) is easy from 1550. For beginners, Ski schools also have a strong presence in 1550. The village itself is quiet and a lot cheaper than other areas of Courchevel, making it ideal for families. Due to its lower altitude, the snow cannot be guaranteed all year round, however a short gondola ride will whisk you up to 1850 which then has access to the entire three valleys. Access by road to 1650 and 1850 is relatively long, so for those wanting a more lively night life we suggest staying in one of the former villages in Courchevel.
